We offer accommodation just by the venue on the beautiful old wooden sailing ship Hawila. You can book your bed here: https://www.tickettailor.com/events/xplorecopenhagen/170222
18 beds in the common mess on the ship, toilet and shower available. Sheets are provided.
You can also read more about the Hawila project at http://hawilaproject.org/
If we are full or you prefer to be on land or a more private setting we can recommend finding an Airbnb, Hotel or Hostel close by on Christianshavn, Holmen or Amager, but getting to the venue from the city center as well as the districts Vesterbro, Nørrebro and Østerbro wont take you long either.
The festival is located at "The Magnet":
William Wains Gade 18
1432 København K
The best way to The Magnet is by bike. Otherwise the 9A bus, “City Bike” and water bus all have stops at Refshaleøen. And then its a 12-15 min walk by the water to Teaterøen.
The “city bike” system is really good. It’s easier to use if you pre-register on the website. Or simply turn up to a bike station with your credit card. https://bycyklen.dk/en/
9A buses run all night. Approximately every 10 min. during peak times, every 30 min. after midnight.
Water bus (ferry) runs twice an hour during the day once an hour in the evening. It doesn’t run at night. Fairly easy to use the ferry in the morning from central copenhagen.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What do I need to bring?
A: We recommend everyone to bring a towel, a sheet, a yoga mat or something to sit / play on during workshops. Bring comfortable clothing to move in and if you'd like to dress up do bring your costumes. Also bring whatever toys and equipment you would like to play with. We have some lube, condoms, gloves and oil available in the spaces but we encourage you to bring your own as well. Some workshops might ask you to bring specific things, please check the workshop descriptions.
Q: Will there be food?
A: Yes there will be a chef cooking organic and vegetarian lunch and dinner everyday at the venue, and a little cafe selling snacks, fruit and drinks. Meals needs to be booked no later than one week before the festival. You are also welcome to bring your own food to the venue or go to the nearby street food market, to Lille bakery or To Banchina which are some of the nearby options - but you will probably be short on time to return back for the first workshop after the break if you do so.
Q: How can I sign up for workshops?
A: You don’t need to sign up for workshops. Simply show up by the space 5-10 minutes before the workshop starts. Some workshops may fill up, we have tried to organize the schedule so that the most popular workshops will be repeated.
Q: Will there be a play party?
A: Yes on sunday night after the workshops and dinner we will have a play party.
Q: Is there a shower?
A: Yes there is a shower you can use in the basement under the café. If you are staying on Hawila there is a shower there too.
